What are we building for the Handball Community?
At St. Louis Hinder Club (SLHC), we pride ourselves on our dedication to the sport of handball. Our journey has not been without challenges, but it has only made us stronger as a team. Recently, we were notified that our Arnold facility lease would not be renewed beyond 2024. It was time to find a new home for our club, and we were thrilled to discover a former racquetball/handball facility at 8701 Dunn Road, Hazelwood, MO. With our new location, SLHC will be one of the only Handball Member Owned & Operated Clubs in the Country!

The full amount of the purchase price will be financed under favorable terms offered by the lender, a good and generous friend of SLHC. The term of the fixed rate loan is five years with two one-year extension options. The appraisal value of the property is in excess of the purchase price, negotiated down from the asking price.

We hope to secure and build a 'club to call home' for all future Handball generations, and to keep the Sport of Handball alive!
Our campaign starts “at home”, with our 100+ dedicated handball players and loyal SLHC members. In the first month of the campaign, we have firm commitments of just over $250,000 from a significant portion of our club members. Our sites are set on a goal of $500,000 from local and national efforts.
Your donations are tax-deductible (within the extent of the law)
At St. Louis Hinder Club, we are proud to be affiliated with the Missouri State Handball Association (MSHA), a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization.
Donations made to the MSHA charitable organization, are tax deductible (to the extent allowed by law). Contributors to our Capital Campaign will receive a formal acknowledgement reflecting their donated amount, date of receipt, and MSHA Tax (Employer ID) information required for reporting the donation for tax deduction, and other verbiage required by the IRS.
MSHA is also exempt from paying sales tax on purchases of goods and services, and we intend to apply for an exemption from property taxes currently levied by the county. Our club's financial and legal status reflects our commitment to transparency and responsible stewardship.
Where is your donation going?
Here at St. Louis Hinder Club, we understand the importance of investing in our facilities and equipment. Our club is committed to rolling out a phased approach to improvements, ensuring an efficient and effective process for all parties involved. With the support of MSHA and SLHC Boards, we are establishing a Debt Service Reserve Fund to ensure the long-term sustainability of our facilities. We appreciate the community's support and look forward to providing a top-notch experience for all handball players in our area.

Servicing the loan and covering facility’s operating costs:

Loan payments, utilities, and property taxes will be paid from the SLHC Operating budget. SLHC operating funds are generated through annual membership dues, tournament revenue, and other handball community events. In addition, a debt service reserve will be established equal to one year of loan payments.

Programs to advance the sport of handball locally and nationally:
-
Establish a youth handball program, fed by building relationships with local youth sports programs, and an outreach initiative to build awareness with schools and community businesses.
